Keller Wealth Advisors traces its history back to 1968
when R. L. Keller, CPA left the firm of Williams Keller & Harrison to provide accounting services to a select group of clients and multi-generational families.
What investment advisory fees will I pay Keller Wealth Advisors?
The fee you will pay for investment advisory services is based on a percentage of assets under management. Our tiered fee schedule begins at 0.8% on the first $1,000,000 of assets, with additional assets billed at decreasing rates. This fee is calculated and paid, in advance, on a quarterly basis. Individual fixed income assets are charged an additional 0.13% annually. A minimum annual fee of $4,000 is required for investment advisory services.
For additional information about fees and costs, including our full fee schedule, please see Form ADV, Part 2A brochure (Items 5 and 6 of Part 2A) available here.

How are you compensated?
Keller Wealth Advisors offers investment advisory services for a percentage of assets under management which makes it a Fee-Only advisory firm. Firms that offer services that are commission-based or Fee-Based are typically selling products and generating their fees from commissions. The spectrum of products they offer could be limited as they will be offering products yielding them the highest compensation. This could result in you buying a product that is not in your best interest but in the seller’s best interest.
What is a fiduciary?
Many people call themselves “financial advisors,” but fewer call themselves fiduciaries. As a fiduciary, we believe in fairness and transparency in all we do. We do not sell products or earn commissions. We put your values, needs, and goals first when creating a financial plan and offering investment advice.
What are your credentials?
Anyone can call themselves a financial planner or financial advisor. Even someone calling himself or herself a licensed financial planner does not mean what it implies.
CFP® professionals and CFA professionals are certified and regulated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute. These certifications represent a higher standard of competency, ethics, and professionalism. Both certifications must commit to a fiduciary duty which means putting the client’s best interest first. You want a planner who puts your needs and interests first.
What is your approach to financial planning and what services do you offer?
Our approach is a long-term investment strategy that builds on your short-term and long-term goals. We listen to you ask questions and work together to formulate a strategy for your financial plan. We continue to monitor the plan and make changes to reflect your life changes and developments from changing tax laws and volatile financial markets.
The services we provide vary from client to client based on their goals. We might have a client who needs education planning and a different client who needs retirement planning.
What experience do you have?
Our experience spans working with an individual out of college through our XY Now Plan to a complex estate plan involving several generations. The estate plan usually involves business structure and succession planning, wealth transfer planning, charitable planning, and estate settlement and administration. We have cumulatively over 75 years of experience helping clients build financial foundations for future generations.
What areas do you specialize in?
Our areas of expertise span all life stages and build upon each other. We have a program, XY Now Plan, specifically for young professionals and families under 45, XY Now Plan, with young advisors who understand and relate to clients who are under 45.
We have developed several resources – Transitioning to Adulthood, Marriage and Money, Prep for Parenthood, and Are You Ready for Retirement – to focus on the different life stages and what is important to each.
Estate and Legacy planning is a major focus of our firm as we feel strongly about preserving a family’s wealth for future generations.
Can I work with you if I do not live in Texas?
We work with clients in several states in addition to Texas. Meetings can be virtual at the client’s discretion.
Can I have the information in writing?
Your financial plan will be in writing once you become a client and we go through the process of gathering information about you and understanding your goals. Each client is different which translates into financial plans being designed specifically to optimize your financial circumstances.
Keller Wealth Advisors works under a fiduciary standard that requires its professionals to consider what is in their clients’ best interests. Many people call themselves “financial advisors” and “financial planners,” which does not mean they are operating as fiduciaries.
Banks, brokers, fee-based financial advisors, insurance companies, and trust companies offer “advice” to clients which usually translates into “selling” the client a product. Commissions are derived from the sale of these products. Because of the conflict of interest inherent in these transactions, these advisors may have difficulty putting the client’s best interest above their own.
Keller Wealth Advisors offers its financial planning and investment advisory services on a Fee-Only compensation basis, no commissions are paid to Keller Wealth Advisors. This compensation philosophy allows the firm to recommend products from the universe of investment options that the firm believes are in the best interest for a client’s situation. The Fee-Only philosophy minimizes conflicts of interest and maximizes the fiduciary standard. We are an independent financial planning firm that allows us to make decisions based specifically on each client versus meeting goals set by a corporate office.
We partner with you to build a personalized financial plan and recommend an appropriate investment strategy that aligns with your core values and unique life goals. Situations can change in a client’s life. We will discuss these life changes with you and update your plan as necessary. Several of our multi-generational clients, that span four generations, have and continue to experience life changes. Years of complex financial and estate planning is necessary to preserve their legacy.
We believe any person needing financial planning and investment advice deserves competent and objective advice from professionals that are held to professional standards. The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional or CFP® marks and the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designations denote individuals who are educated in a variety of financial topics. The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation denotes a licensed professional with extensive education, experience and high standards while providing accounting services. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential sets the standard as the most highly respected designation in the investment management profession.
These designations differentiate from anyone who calls themselves a “financial advisor” without any professional standards or certifications. Our professionals holding these designations must meet annual continuing education requirements and are held to a fiduciary standard of care which requires that an adviser acts solely in the best interest of the client. Finding the best investment alternatives with lower expenses when possible.
Financial planning is the process of meeting your life goals through the proper management of your finances. Through our experience, we feel this planning process is better served through professionals meeting these rigorous requirements.
